Why Be The Light?
Be The Light began right here in Wamego, Kansas — a small nonprofit built on being the light. Whether that means being there for someone who needs help or that means just being kind to people to hopefully have a positive impact on them and others around them.
Grounded in faith, we started small but built into a true cooperative family. What began as a handful of bags has grown into a huge helping hand for children all around Wamego and soon other school districts. We also started offering holiday boxes for families to celebrate Easter and Thanksgiving with a nice meal. You can find forms for these holiday boxes in the registration section.
Our heart hasn't changed. We're here to lift the weight off families in need and to love our neighbors as ourselves.
